Props/Locations for Opening Sequence

Props/Locations for Opening Sequence

In our opening sequence we want the WIFI to flicker and go off. we figured that we would do an ECU on either the light source or a blue rim and manually control the light bleeping on and off.

To experiment with light I thought we might be able to place these lights on the screen of the laptop. they will be hidden from shot and will further light up the face of the actor. it will give a electronic effect to the light and also show the facial features of the protagonist

The music that is being streamed to the iPod through YouTube will suddenly halt and an error screen will appear.

The laptop the son will be on will flicker off. we have decided that we will not show the screen as a bar effect will appear on the screen, so we will use lights that will give a blue effect. after analyzing the opening sequence of the Titanic I noticed the use of a cold blue gave a enigma effect to the story, so this will be used to hit the characters face.

The blue circle around the printers logo may flicker on and off. I am also thinking of recording some sound to include in the background as all of the electric appliances fail.

The phone is connected to the landline and will mysteriously cut off in the middle of a sentence. This will be added in through sound effects that will be recorded separately form the scene.

By using these simple appliances the audience will be able to relate to their use and the lack of communication without this technology.
